Position Description: 

Sean O’Carroll is looking for an administrative assistant to help with the day-to-day running of the Wild Mind Institute. This role involves assisting with administrative and practical aspects of the Institute.

Key tasks include communicating with people interested in our PDs and other training opportunities, responding to emails, taking and managing bookings, liaising with venues, caterers and visiting teachers, managing email lists, social media, and so on.  

This role will initially be casual and approximately 4 hours a week, with the intention of building to more work going forward. We will arrange a trial period of one to three months before committing to the ongoing role. The successful applicant will be directly working with - and reporting to - Sean O’Carroll. 


We are looking for someone who:

  • Is preferably based in Melbourne

  • Enjoys working with people

  • Has an engaging and responsive communication style

  • Has a personal interest/involvement in some of the relevant fields, such as: psychology, psychotherapy, nature-connection, psychedelic therapies, embodiment practices etc.

  • Has a good level of independence, judgment and initiative

  • Has excellent organizational skills

  • Has excellent project administration skills

  • Has relevant work experience

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Has the ability to produce clear, succinct reports and documents

  • Is highly computer literate, including familiarity with certain software/platforms such as:

    • Mailchimp

    • Excel/Sheets

    • Squarespace

    • Social Media - Facebook/Instagram

    • Or otherwise quickly adapts to and learns new software/systems

The Wild Mind Institute was founded in 2018 and offers professional development and training for mental health professionals in a number of areas including: nature-based (eco) psychotherapy, psychedelic therapies, “bad trip” integration, and somatic/embodiment practice. 

About Sean O’Carroll

Sean O’Carroll is the founder and director of the Wild Mind Institute.  He has been working and teaching in the field of psychotherapy for over 10 years and, in addition to his role with the Wild Mind Institute, is Head of Psychotherapy at Clarion Clinics and a Psychotherapist and Trainer with Monash University Clinical Psychedelics Research Lab.
