Sean Portrait BW-1.jpg

My name is Sean O’Carroll.

I have been practicing as a psychotherapist since 2011. I have trained in a number of different types of psychotherapy (see below), and also regularly work as an academic and trainer here in Melbourne, teaching others about transpersonal psychology, integrative psychotherapy, art therapy, and eco-psychotherapy. I have a longstanding personal interest in eco-psychology - the relationship between the mind and the natural world - and this informs my work with clients.

If you are interested in working with me, please get in touch. I am a psychotherapist, not a psychologist, and I work alongside the medical model. This means that I do not always think in terms of mental illness, and I do not prescribe medications. My approach is grounded in deep listening and genuine engagement with you and your experience. In this way I have successfully helped hundreds of clients improve their relationships and live more wholehearted and fulfilling lives.

In general I will meet new clients for an initial 90 minute session in which I will hear about you and your life. During this session you will also get a feel for me and how I work. At the conclusion of that first session we will decide whether we can work together. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
